I gained a BA (Hons) at Sheffield School of Art & Design where I worked figuratively, mainly in oils on canvas depicting the human form and still life. Some paintings were of discarded items or, put simply, rubbish! I sought to highlight the intrinsic beauty and give a new insight into something rejected.

When exhibited in London interest was shown by a dealer and work went abroad.

I completed my P.G.C.E. and became Head of Art in a private school. My painting was further recognised when I won the BBC "Look North West" competition out of 1,300 entrants, with the painting "Skins" shown below.
